Obituary

Sharon Godwin Davis, 83, of Davisville, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at home. Born on September 4, 1943, to the late Vonzie C Godwin and Ruth Tichi Godwin, she was the eldest of three children and a proud graduate of Ernest Ward High School, Class of 1961.

Her greatest pride was her love for the Lord, her family, and friends. A devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and great-grandmother, she lived her life centered around faith, family, and services to others. Her love was shown through her constant presence, unwavering support, and the countless ways she made sure those she loved knew they mattered. She was always there, cheering on her children and grandchildren and making memories that will be treasured forever.

Her generous heart extended into her community, where she touched countless lives through her kindness and willingness to serve. Her greatest legacy is the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind. She will be forever cherished and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmie D. Davis, Sr.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Jimmie Douglas “Doug” (Jeannine) Davis Jr. of Brooksville, FL, Brian (Susie) Davis of Walnut Hill, Karen (Frank) Jay of Atmore, AL, and her Bonus daughter Kay Ashcraft (Brad) Cook of Daphne, AL; eight grandchildren, Heather Davis (Donovan) Plank, Alexander (Shyla) Davis, Elizabeth Davis (Shane) Fitzgerald, Jason Whitfield, Kirby Jay, KayLeigh Jay, Travis (Hayley) Ashcraft, John Wesley Cook; and three great -grandchildren, Peyton Plank, Draxxin Plank, and Riley Jay. She is also survived by her brothers, Michael "Mike" (Renee) Godwin of Davisville, FL, Johnny (Debbie) Godwin of Davisville, FL, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
