Thomas Hayles, age 85, of Atmore, AL passed away on December 26, 2022 in Atmore, AL.  He was born on June 29, 1937 in Eliska, AL to Wesley and Arlie Shipp Hayles.  He was an ironworker for many years and later became a residential contractor.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Chris Hayles and his siblings: Marvin Hayles, Ollie Mae Stafford, Helen Colbert, Eubie Hayles, Letha Freeman and Lula Mae Colbert.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janice Pruett Hayles; his son, James "Robbie" Hayles of Lottie, AL; his daughter, Kathy Davis of Atmore, AL; his brother, Edison Hayles of Poarch, AL; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Wayne Colbert, James Colbert, Johnny Colbert, Matthew Tremer, Larry Meitzler and Bubba Meitzler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Hadley and Edison Hayles.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, AL.
