Morris Ropp, age 89 of Bemidji, MN, and Atmore, AL, passed away peacefully the morning of Sept 25 ^th , 2021 while his wife Norma Joan (Miller) Ropp of 67 years was holding his hand. He was born in Kalona, IA on April 26, 1932 into the family of Solomon C. and Vesta (Yoder) Ropp.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 siblings, 2 daughters-in-law, Fayetta (Dale) Schrock/Ropp and Carmen (Sanford) Kulzer/Ropp.

He is survived by his wife Norma Joan Ropp, 6 children—Debora of Kenora, Ont; Dale of Bemidji, MN; Donna (Ellis Beery) of Mt. Crawford, VA; Judith (Dale Huber) of Atmore, AL; Joann (Nevin Nisly) of Partridge, KS; Sanford of (Wamesa Beckman), Newbern, NC; 25 grandchildren, and 24 great- grandchildren.

He and Norma (Midland, MI) married August 6 ^th , 1954, after a deer (dear) hunting trip to Midland. They began their married life in 1-W service moving to Kalona, IA when their term was up. In 1957 they moved to Churubusco, IN where they lived from 1957—1964.

His passion for sharing the love of Jesus took him to northern MN where he maintained a residence until the day of his death. Since the winters were long and cold in Minnesota, he also resided in Atmore, AL for the past 38 years. During the winter months he was very involved with the prison ministry as well as fishing, traveling, nature, and reading. He frequently had a book beside his chair that reflected these interests. It was precious to see the hand of God allowing him, despite declining health, to return to Alabama for 9 days where his earthly pilgrimage ended.

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct.1st, 2021 from 6:00—8:00 PM at Mennonite Christian Fellowship.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 10:00 am at Mennonite Christian Fellowship with Blaine Copenhaver officiating and Anthony Swartzendruber bringing the message.

Interment will follow in Freemanville Community Cemetery .
