Judy C. Strickland, 77, of Atmore, AL., passed away on April 15, 2026.  She was born on February 28, 1949, in Poarch, Alabama.

Judy was a homemaker and a proud tribal member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.  She loved her family, her fur baby Layla, the beach, listening to music, and fishing.  She will be remembered for her quirky sense of humor, her ability to make those around her laugh, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Faye Jackson and Ethel Queenie Mitchell; her husband, David Strickland; her daughter, Sheila Thomas; her sister, Ann Jackson; and her brother, Donnie Jackson.

She is survived by her children, Sonya Charles (Mark), Angie Holt (Jed), Ashley Strickland, and Danny Thomas (Amber).  She is also survived by her sisters, Lisa Mitchell and Cynthia Alvarez (Wes); her brother, Pablo Melendez Jr. (Heather); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Poarch Community Church.
