Atmore
James Darrell Hudson, 49, of Atmore, Alabama passed away in his home on Thursday, August 18, 2022. In hospice care, he died peacefully in his sleep from advanced stage malignant Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Darrell was born in Mobile, Alabama, to James Allen Hudson and Linda Mae Harris Hudson on September 23, 1972. As a youth, he was active in Big Creek Baptist Church and graduated from Mary G. Montgomery High School. For most of his career, Darrell operated heavy equipment at the Alabama State Docks and most recently at P & R Mining, Incorporated of Atmore. Throughout his life, he encouraged the younger generations to have faith and to have fun. Darrell enjoyed learning family history, setting and reaching power-lifting goals in the gym, testing the off-road limits of his Jeep, and spending every possible moment with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Tiffany Moore Hudson; his children, DesiRee Passarelli, Zoey Scruggs, Christian Tamez, and Destiny Tamez; his grandsons, Raydon and Bobby Passarelli; his mother, Linda Mae Harris; his siblings, Robert "Bob" Hudson (Trudy), Clovis "Peewee" Hudson, Catherine Annette Wilson, Tammy Howard Clark, Melody Hudson Owens (Richard) and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews who remember their adventures and shenanigans with "Uncle Darrell", the biggest kid of them all.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Allen Hudson, in 1998 and his brother, Bill Hudson, in 2017.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Saraland, Alabama on August 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. for family and friends to share memories.
The family wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to the Mobile Infirmary Hospital Cancer Ward, North Baldwin Infirmary (Bay Minette), Thomas Hospital (Fairhope), and to the many friends and co-workers who have provided prayers, encouragement and support.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
