James Edward "Eddie" Baker, 71, of Atmore, AL, passed away at Atmore Community Hospital on June 13, 2025.  Eddie was born on June 30, 1953 in Atmore, AL to Winston "Buddy" Baker and Jerryline "Janice" McDonald.  Eddie was a longtime foreman and retired from Air Products.  He was an avid hunter and loved Alabama football.  He was a member of Robinsonville Baptist Church for many years.  He loved being a part of his church's Vacation Bible School every summer.  Above all, he loved the Lord and spending time with his family and friends.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Winston "Buddy" Clark Baker and Jerryline "Janice" McDonald Baker.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Smith Baker; his son, Troy (Summerlyn) Baker of Orange Beach, AL, brother; Wayne (Diane) Baker of Bratt, FL, sister; Denise (Paul) Chason of Bratt, FL, his grandsons; Kaleb Baker, Rook Gwin, nieces; Miranda Brooks, and Christy Black, nephews; Ryan Chason, Kevin Chason, and Scott Baker, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Eddie will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Robinsonville Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Smith officiating.  Internment will follow in Robinsonville Baptist Church Cemetery in Robinsonville, AL.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Smith, Scott Baker, Ryan Chason, Jeremy Ray, Doug Purvis and Michael Strawbridge. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Word, and Bobby Wooten.

Visitation for Eddie will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in Atmore, AL.

In Leu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the Robinsonville Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
