Ja'Lani was born in Mobile, AL at Children's and Women's Hospital weighing three pounds and eight ounces.  She fought a very unique battle during her life and overall she won her battle when she passed away peacefully in her parent's arms and went into the arms of Jesus on February 27, 2021 at 12:08 a.m.  Ja'Lani was truly loved and made all of us prouder than anyone could ever possibly know.  She was the angel from Heaven who was not meant to stay long on earth. She was meant for a greater plan, a plan we do not know or understand. She will forever and always be a part of us no matter where we go.

Ja'Lani is preceded in death by her great-great grandparents; her great grandmother, Levada Dale Williams and her great grandfather, Franklin D. Cotton, Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Ashley Cotton and her father, Gelonte Giles; her brothers, KJ and Seven; her sister, Trinity; her grandparents, Beulah Cotton, Yolanda and Gegarland Giles; her great-great grandmother, Waltina Garman-Garr; her aunt, Porche Giles and her uncles, Demarland Giles, Matthew (Kelley) Cotton and Thomas (TW) Cotton.
