H. Wayne Moring, age 82 of Atmore, AL passed away on April 17th, 2025, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. Wayne was born January 26th, 1943, in Atmore, AL to Henry Moring and Ruby Langham Moring.

After graduating from Escambia County High School as salutatorian, Wayne attended the University of Alabama and received his bachelor's degree in 1967. In 1969, he received a Master's Degree from Auburn University. After graduation, he began teaching in Grant, AL at Kate Duncan Smith DAR School. Wayne continued to teach growing minds at various schools for 40 years and served as the Supervisor of Mathematics for Escambia County, FL schools.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Edmund and Ann Witkiewicz, and his sister-in-law Marguerite Witkiewicz; and proceeded by his sister Margaret Jeter (April 18th, 2025)

Wayne is survived by his loving wife; Marcella Witkiewicz Moring, his daughter; Emily (Monti) Sommer of Atmore, AL., his four grandchildren: Jackson Sommer, Ella Sommer, Anna Sommer, Piper Sommer; and brother-in-law; Rayford Earl Jeter. Wayne is also survived by 3 nieces: Dianne (Robin) Baggett, Linda (Gary) West, Rachel (Tim) Robinson and 2 nephews: Tom Jeter, Randy (Brenda) Jeter.

The funeral will be held at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore, AL on April 26, 2025, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation for friends will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested for donations to be made in Wayne's memory to the Atmore Public Library and the American Cancer Society.
