Gwendolyn Quimby Douglas, 87, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gwen was a graduate of J. U. Blacksher High in Uriah, Alabama. After graduation, she moved to Mobile, where she met her husband of 54 years, Patrick Avant Douglas, Sr. She was known for her love of travel and her joyful, adventurous spirit.

She is survived by her children, Patrick (Monica) Douglas Jr. and Kelly (Craig) Fowler, and her four beloved grandchildren, Caroline, Emily, Lydia, and Creighton.

A memorial service will be held at Springhill Presbyterian Church in Mobile, Alabama, on January 23 at 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mitchell Cancer Institute or a charity of your choice.
