Glennes Juanita
Hadley
d. Nov 7, 2025
Perdido
Glennes Juanita Hadley, age 88, a lifelong resident of Perdido, Alabama, stepped into the presence of her Savior peacefully on November 7, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Glennes was the daughter of the late Reece S. McGill and Ruth Vaughn McGill. She was married to her beloved husband, Martin Hadley, with whom she shared forty-three years of marriage before his passing in 1998. They were blessed with five caring children.
Glennes dedicated her life to serving the Lord and her church. She was an active member of Perdido Baptist Church until she was unable to attend due to declining health. Her life was marked by her sacrificial care of others as she faithfully served the Lord in her community. She cared for numerous elderly family members as well as members of the church, delivering food, providing transportation, and encouraging everyone with the love of Christ. She had a heart for the children of Perdido and saw to it they had a way to church. She was devoted to glorifying the Lord as she discharged many duties within the church body including an ongoing prayer list for the sick and shut-ins, a prayer chain for those in need, a card ministry that encouraged many, VBS administrator, and a member of the choir in which she loved to sing praise to God.
Her family was her greatest joy after Chirst. Glennes was a godly mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. While she had several jobs outside the home, her mission in life was to raise her children to live for the Lord. She continually prayed for each one everyday and always made them feel loved. Her generous spirit brought joy to everyone she met, and filled the hearts of many, especially her lifetime friends, who she had since early childhood. She leaves a legacy of faith in God, hope in our salvation in Christ, the love of the Father and is evident in the testimonies of her family and in our love for one another.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Hadley; son, Randall Hadley; parents, Reece and Ruth McGill; brother, Lowell McGill (Quida); sister, Patricia Cooper (Dale); grandson, Omar Hammami, and son in law, Harry Bryant.
She is survived by her children: Debra Hammami (Shafik) of Daphne, Alabama; Julia Bryant of Stockton, Alabama; Timothy Hadley (Ruby) of Phillipsville, Alabama; and Phillip Hadley (Rhonda) of Stockton, Alabama. She also leaves her grandchildren, Dena Szajko, Nicole Cuneo, Jamey Bullin, Leslie Hadley, Kris Lathrop, Jason Lathrop, Kyle Hadley, Cooper Hadley and Ella Hadley; twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Her loving sister who she loved dearly, Diane Weaver and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held on November 10th, at 11:30am at Perdido Baptist Church 23310 Co Rd 47, Perdido, AL 36562. All are welcome to attend and share their favorite memories.
Visitation will be held on November 10th, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m. at Perdido Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Glennes to Perdido Baptist Church; her church that was dear to her heart.
The family extends their most sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Southern Hospice for their compassionate care and her two loving care givers, Elaine Day and Linda Heibert.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
