Freddie Mappin Miller, age 96, peacefully passed away in Atmore on Wednesday December 29, 2021. She was born January 12, 1925 in Tampa FL. She moved to Atmore, AL in 1983 with her husband, Gordon and son, Rusty.  She was an amazing, kind and selfless woman who loved everyone in her life and would gladly do anything she could for those needing it.  She loved volunteering with various community organizations, playing bridge with her friends and anything that involved being outside enjoying nature.  She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Atmore.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick J. Mappin & Mary Mappin; her husbands, Richard Earl Strickland Sr. & Howard Gordon Miller Sr.; her daughters, Carol Anderson and Barbara Haw.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard Earl Strickland Jr. and his wife, Nita of Gulf Shores, AL and Howard Gordon (Rusty) Miller Jr. and his wife, Tracy of Atmore, AL; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held for her at Trinity Episcopal Church in Atmore for her close friends and family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you make a donation in her memory to the church she loved, Trinity Episcopal Church, 203 S. Carney St., Atmore, AL 36502.
