Frances Drew Smith, age 90, of Atmore, AL passed away on March 23, 2021. She was born on March 1, 1931 in Monroe County, AL to the late Isaac and Maggie Marshall Ardis. She dedicated sixty one years of her life to nursing.  She was a member of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles Drew; her second husband, Walter Smith; her infant daughter; her brother, Carl Ardis and her sister, Nora Ardis Hadley.

She is survived by her sister, Carol Ardis Jordan of Frisco City, AL; her sister-in-laws, Georgia Brooks of Atmore, AL, Ann (Wayne) Sanders  of Cartersville, GA, Frances Ray Ardis of Franklin, AL, Norma James of Monroeville, AL, Ruth Covan of Montgomery, AL and Mary Montgomery of Pensacola, FL; her lifelong friend, Thelma Bouler and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim Tew officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, AL.

Active pallbearers will be Glenn Jordan, Allen Jordan, O'Neal Jordan, Donald Johnson, Ike Hadley and Joey Mura.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
