Evelyn Golson Turberville, age 102, of Auburn, AL passed away on April 6, 2024.  She was born in Conecuh County, AL to Benjamin and Annie Lou Williams Golson.  Evelyn was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Atmore.  Evelyn taught in Conecuh County and Atmore for more than 30 years and spent thousands of hours as a volunteer for Atmore Community Hospital Auxiliary.  Her favorite past times were spent with family, playing dominos, bingo, jigsaw, crossword puzzles and watching the Atlanta Braves.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton Bruce Turberville and her brothers, Reginald Golson, Wilbur Golson, Solomon Golson, Elmer Golson, Otis Golson and Talmadge Golson.

She is survived by her son, Bruce (Cindy) Turberville; her daughter, Alice (Robert) Crittenden; her grandchildren, Scott (Mary) Turberville and Ben (Stacie) Turberville; her great grandchildren, Gibbs, Davis and Claire along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kevin Garrett officiating.  A private family graveside service will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Atmore Community Hospital Auxiliary.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
