Ellafair Sharpless Tennant Cotter, age 92, of Foley, AL passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  Ellafair was born on April 19, 1933 to John Castle and Mattie Lala Holley Sharpless in Atmore, AL.  She graduated from Escambia County High School and was a member of Swift Presbyterian Church in Foley, AL.  Ellafair was the secretary and veterinarian assistant for her husband, Dr. Harold Tennant at Tennant Animal Hospital for many years before retiring.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harold Alton Tennant, DVM; her second husband, Clifford J. Cotter; her siblings: Jewell Grace Godwin, Geraldine Sally Findley, Roy Castle Sharpless, Lala Maxine Bell, John Edward "Johnny" Sharpless, and her two of her son-in-law's, Dr. Charles Miles Berry and Melvin Floyd Spivey.

Ellafair is survived by her children, Cindy Tennant Berry of Portland, OR, Susan Tennant (John) Bachelor of Comanche, OK, Sandra Tennant Spivey of Auburn, AL and Sally Tennant (Peter) Desarro of Orange Beach, AL; eleven grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore, AL.  Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
