Mr. Edward Neal Gephart Jr. passed away on May 8, 2026. He was born on February 15, 1944, at King's Daughters Hospital in Columbia, TN, to Edward Neal Gephart Sr and Elizabeth Journey Gephart.
Mr. Gephart always excelled in sports and academia. He played baseball and was Captain of the football team in high school. He was the class president of his 1962 graduating class, and his football achievements earned him a scholarship to the University of Wyoming.
He went on to graduate from Austin Peay University. He was involved with the R.O.T.C. Program for four years and enlisted as a First Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. He was stationed at Pensacola Naval Base, where he received his wings. Mr. Gephart was a Huey Helicopter Pilot, rescuing wounded soldiers off the battlefields of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Gephart moved back to Pensacola, FL, after the military, where he met his future wife, Sue Singleton. They had a joyful, loving union, unselfishly laughing and always caring for one another.
He was an avid reader and Biblical scholar. He had a deep Christian faith, being baptized in the Church of Christ as a young boy.
Mr. Gephart was loved and admired by his family. He will be sadly missed as we celebrate his lifelong achievements and heartwarming spirit of giving to the underprivileged. He was also a staunch supporter of Animal Rights.
