Clair Elizabeth Wise McGill, age 81, of Atmore, AL passed away on November 18, 2022 in Atmore, AL.  She was born on September 15, 1941 in Atmore, AL to Odus and Thelma Elizabeth Hawke Wise. She received a Bachelor's degree with Samford University and a Master's degree with Troy University.  Clair was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore and was a retired teacher with the Escambia County Alabama School System.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Odus and Elizabeth Wise; her sister, Nan Reia Norris and her brother-in-law, James Norris.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Terre McGill; her nieces: Tina Norris Brooks (Scott) of Atmore, AL, René Norris Godwin (Lamar) of Oak Grove, FL, Michele Norris of Auburn, AL and Lexie McGill Thorsen (Dennis) of Pensacola, FL; six nieces and nephews and eight great-great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, AL.

Active pallbearers will be Zach Brooks, Norris Brooks, Ethan Brooks, Lamar Godwin, Bryan McGill and Dennis Thorsen.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
